Dino Pastin

He has worked with top producers: Dick Clark, Michael Omartian, Don Cook, Darren Smith (Tim McGraw Show) and also with artists: N’SYNC, Gladys Knight, Donna Summer, Dolly Parton, Jim Nabors, Tiny Tim, Kid Rock, Bekka Bramlett and performed on all of the Award Shows: Grammys, ACM, CMA, Dove, etc. as well as the Late Night TV Talk Shows, HBO Specials, TNN Network Specials, The Grand Ole Opry, Hee Haw, Statler Brothers Show, New Country, Alabama’s 42 – #1 Hit’s Special, just to name a few. Dino has performed at The White House several times and was privileged meet President George Bush and other top officials at that time.
Dino comes from a long line of performers. His uncle, Ret. LT CDR John Pastin was Commander/Conductor of the Washington D.C Navy Band and is now the Dean of Music and Performing Arts at Rowan University where Dino music directed for Louise Mandrell who performed there in Dec.2012. His Cousin, Danielle Pastin is a renowned Opera singer. His parents owned 5 dance schools in the Pittsburgh area in the 70’s where he taught Music, Marching and Color Guard Rifle Technique. With Barbara Mandrell, Dino was privileged to work with some of the best choreographers in the business: Scott Salmon(Miss America, Academy & Grammy Awards, “La Cage Aux Folles.”, Radio City Music Hall Productions, Etc.) Joseph Malone(Michael Jackson)
Dino studied Music Education at Duquesne University School of Music (Pittsburgh, PA) and Trevecca University (Nashville, TN). In 1979 he started his music career in Nashville as a musician/composer and toured in Gospel music circles with: CROSSFIRE, Randy Mathews, Andrus, Blackwood & Co. and Ric Cua and Bobby Jones. He then continued touring with country artists Tommy Overstreet and Vern Gosdin and THE TRUX who performed on STAR SEARCH. When not on tour he performed in Nashville at the world famous Printer’s Alley by night and a staff musician at Polyfox Studios by day.
Dino is currently:
• Performs with blues artists: Keb Mo and Clarence Dobbins.
• Teaching classes @ Whole Heart School in Nashville and Private Instruction@ Music &Arts.
• Producing and Composing in Nashville where he resides with his wife, Janna and their two children, Dina and Vincent.
• In June 2013 taught a master class in Rock Methods at VanderCook College of Music (Chicago)
